These are the worst facts I've seen on weed in awhile. I mean have you guys seen all the crashes people on weed have caused lately and the banks they've robbed to supply their habit. I'll admit the first page was as far as I got being it was so biased and incorrect.

This is what is wrong with America, people that have never even seen marijuana in person or used it just goes with the general idea that it is bad. People drunk drive and kill people all the time and it is still legal, no one has ever died from marijuana. Snoop Dogg has a higher IQ than probably over half of the United
States and he smokes at least 20 times a day and is more successful than whoever wrote this article. The only part of this article that is true is probably about prescription pills being the most abused drug in the U.S, and yet they are still legal. The United States is all about making money anymore, not what is true and just. Weed should be legal way before alcohol, cigarettes, and even prescription drugs. Get your facts straight before you post something, smoking can actually do good for people, it could help get pill addicts to stop popping so many pills and mellow out, and yes you do mellow out. The only way that marijuana is going to make someone aggressive is if they are already an aggressive person. Sorry but people are never going to realize the truth about marijuana because of ignorant people like who wrote this because they base their judgement off other peoples' opinions instead of their own.

This makes me laugh. Violence? Tar? Bad grades/Slacking? Gateway? None of these things have effected any of the 15+ group of marijuana users in my Marketing class at *CENSORED* State University. (WOW marijuana users go to school!?) The group of us were asked their grade point averages (which would remain anonymous) and the overall average turned out to be 3.12... Not too shabby huh? The health issues regarding smoking marijuana in comparison to tobacco are ridiculous and false. This writer may need to schmokabole and see for his or her self if they feel violent. IMBECILE.

It is very unlikely that Marijuana is worse than tobacco. Lets assume that "the tar and carbon monoxide inhaled in marijuana is actually 3 to 5 times greater than tobacco products." This tar and carbon monoxide would be in the marijuana SMOKE, which is an important detail to note because many marijuana users (especially the medicinal users) don't smoke, but instead ingest food or pills that contain THC.

This is done by heating up the marijuana in cooking oil, butter, or any fatty substance and then using that ingredient in your recipe. When the marijuana is heated it releases the THC which then binds to the fat molecules, because THC is fat-soluble. You do NOT need to BURN the marijuana to release the THC, it only needs to be heated. Therefore, by ingesting an "Edible", or a THC infused food, you are never exposed to the tar and carbon monoxide that comes from burning marijuana and inhaling the smoke.

Also, we should compare the average cigarette smoker to the average marijuana smoker. I can't list specific numbers but it's safe to assume that the average cigarette smoker will be smoking considerably more cigarettes than the average marijuana smoker smokes pot. And a cigarette smoker will probably take more drags off a cigarette than a pot smoker would off of a joint or smoking device. In addition to this, we should remember that marijuana is typically used socially and passed around between multiple people. Whereas cigarettes are typically not shared, at least not to the degree that marijuana is.

Another detail that you glimpsed over is that tobacco companies treat cigarettes with 599 CHEMICAL ADDITIVES. When burned the chemical properties of these additives change and according to the Center for Disease Control, the burning of the additives release more than 7,000 chemicals. Hundreds of those chemicals are toxic, and around 70 are known carcinogens, in other words they cause cancer! ( http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/sgr/2010/consumer_booklet/chemicals_smoke/ )

This is a very important detail because an overwhelming majority of marijuana is untreated. So even if burning marijuana releases more carbon monoxide and tar, marijuana smoke doesn't even come close to the amount of toxins and carcinogens that are in cigarettes!

Implying anything different is misleading and further stigmatizes marijuana as a villainous weed. When in reality it's just a plant that can be used for bad and good. Marijuana CAN be used responsibly and I encourage anyone who is curious to read more about it and (responsibly) try it for themselves. Education is the best mind-altering experience!

This was good for a cheap laugh. My favorite part of this article was where you claimed that marijuana creates more tar than tobacco, and so you reason that so and so many people died of tobacco last year, therefore even more died from marijuana. Complete bullshit and if you talk to anyone who is legitimately informed on the subject will tell you the exact same thing.

I had a pretty good laugh reading this article. From the lies to the details that just did not make any sense. My god people, if your reading this article because you are trying to decide whether or not marijuana is bad, just think logically about the reasons why people say its bad. Like it being a "gateway drug". Think for a second, how in the world will marijuana increase your chances of trying harder drugs? You don't have to do cocaine if you don't want to. What could possibly be in marijuana that would physically make you crave cocaine? People who are against marijuana explain the term gateway drug in a way as if marijuana will make you do heroin. Its things like that which makes me laugh. Just think logically. And oh my god man! Marijuana more harmful than tobacco!? This article is killing me! lol

I cannot believe that someone writing for a legal resource website could create such an illogical and poorly researched article. It appears as if you found a source, quoted merely what supports you argument on a superficial level, and threw it together with as little depth as possible.
